I know a lot of guys who follow money, sports, and the news. It is the way it is and seems to be expected of men today. When younger the pursuit was women, fun, and sports. My questions iare: What do you follow after? What has your heart?

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness” (1 Timothy 6:11).

At the end of the day as you are unwinding before sleep sets in, ask the Lord to reveal your heart. Ask Him to make it clear to you what has a grip on your heart. “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence” (Colossians 1:18).

May our prayer be, “Lord I want You to have first place in my life and may I flee the things of the world!”
